노인보건 (Aging and Public Health)
노인보건 정책과 관리 분야의 연구 및 실무의 근간이 되는 노인보건 분야의 주요 개념, 이론 및 논점들을 소개한다. 노령화를 다각적 (예: 사회적, 심리적, 신체적) 측면에서 고찰하고, 노령화가 개인, 가족, 지역 사회에 미치는 영향을 검토한다. 노령화에 대한 보건학 관점에서의 이해를 확립하고, 그 바탕 위에서 노인보건 분야의 주요 논점들 -- 성공적 노화, 건강 결정 요인, 건강 서비스 이용 결정 요인, 노인건강증진 및 보건서비스, 공식 및 비공식 돌봄제공, 노년기의 윤리 문제, 관심집단별 접근 (예: 여성, 암환자) 등 -- 에 대해 토론한다. 노인보건 분야에 있어 다학제간 협력의 중요성을 논의한다.
This course introduces the emerging field of public health gerontology. It presents the aging process in the context of social, psycho-behavioral, and physical changes, and its implications for the individual, families, the community, and society, as a foundation for study in health services and policy for aging populations. Students have an opportunity to examine aging and its key concepts from public health perspective, and to discuss major topics in public health gerontology, such as successful aging, determinants of the health and health care utilization of older people, aging programs and policy, and common ethical issues in later life. The value of interdisciplinary collaboration is emphasized.
장기요양 시스템과 관리 (Long-term care Systems and Management)
노인, 장애, 또는 만성 건강문제를 가지고 있는 인구집단의 건강과 삶의 질 유지·증진과 이를 위한 사회적 책임의 중요성이 증가되면서 전통적인 보건의료의 확장된 영역으로 장기요양(후급성케어에서 호스피스까지 포함하는)이 주목 받고 있다. 본 강좌에서는 장기요양의 개념과 철학을 이해하고, 국·내외 장기요양시스템의 각 구성요소(재정, 자원, 서비스, 거버넌스 등)와 관련 정책들을 탐구한다. 또한 장기요양기관 관리(리더쉽, 질·안전관리, 인력관리 등)의 핵심 요소와 관련 연구들을 살펴보고, 기관관리와 관련된 윤리적, 사회적, 규제적 이슈들을 논의한다. 취약인구 집단을 위한 보건의료·장기요양 제도의 통합을 둘러싼 보건·사회정책 논점에 대해 배우고 토론한다.
Long-term care is an extension of traditional health care and receiving significant attention as interests grow on health and quality of life of the elderly, the disabled, and people with chronic conditions, and social responsibility regarding their well-being. This course provides understanding of the key concepts and philosophy of long-term care, and examines long-term care systems and policies in Korea and other countries. Students also learn key strategies for and ethical, social, and regulations issues in long-term care management. They will also have opportunities to learn health and social policy debates and efforts on health and social care integration.
보건정보기술과 정책 (Health Information Technology and Policy)
인구고령화, 만성질환 증가, 기술발전 등의 사회 변화에 따라 보건의료와 웰니스 · 돌봄 분야에 정보통신기술의 활용에 대한 논의와 도입이 활발하다. 이 강의는 인포마틱스와 그 어플리케이션에 대한 기초적 이해를 보건학의 관점 에서 제공하고자 한다. 또한 주요 정보통신기술 툴(tools)를 소개하고 이들의 국내 및 국제 보건 세팅에서의 활용과 평가관련 연구와 실제에 대해 학습하고 토론한다. 보건의료 및 공공복지 분야의 정보통신기술의 역할과 보건복지기술정책 현황과 과제를 논의하고 제시한다.
The utilization of Information and communication technology (ICT) in healthcare and wellness · caregiving are widely discussed and adopted, triggered by social changes including population aging, increasing chronic illness, and technology advancement. This course intends to provide basic understanding of informatics and its applications in healthcare at public health perspective. It gives an overview of the utilization and evaluation of key ICT tools in domestic and global health settings. Discussed are roles of ICT in healthc are and public welfare fields and current status and future agenda in health-welfare technology policy.
보건의료 질, 성과, 테크놀로지
(Healthcare Quality, Outcomes, & Technology)
본 과목은 보건의료의 질의 개념 및 측정과 관련된 주요 원리와 개념들을 소개하고, 효과적 질 향상을 위한 리더쉽, 조직 문화, 보건의료 팀의 역할, 그리고 질 관리의 원칙들과 과정들을 살펴본다. 또한 질 관리의 성과 및 성과 평가 방법을 리뷰하고, 보건정보 시스템과 테크놀로지의 역할과 영향을 고찰한다. 외부적 환경(법, 규제, 보건 정책 등)이 보건의료 조직의 질 관리 및 성과 평가에 미치는 역할 및 영향, 그리고 나아가 다양한 보건의료 조직에서의 보건 서비스 질과 안전 향상을 위한 다각적인 접근법을 고찰하고 토론한다.
This course introduces the concept of quality of health care and the major concepts and principles related to measuring the quality of health care. It also identifies the roles of leadership, organizational culture, and effective teamwork in improving quality of care. The course covers the principles and process of quality management and the impacts of health care information systems and technology. The roles and impacts of external environments (e.g. law, regulation, health policy) on quality management activities and outcomes evaluation in health care organizations will be examined and discussed. The course provides students with opportunities to understand the diverse perspectives and approaches that can be used to address quality and safety issues in different healthcare organizations.
노인보건정책과 만성질환관리체계
(Aging Health Policy and Chronic Care Management Systems)
이 세미나 과목은 노화, 만성 및 정신질환, 장애 등으로 지속적 보건, 복지, 및 사회 서비스 등을 필요로 하는 인구집단의 증가에 대응하는 혁신적인 보건의료 전달체계 구축 전략과 이슈들을 분석하고 대안들을 논의하며, 관련 분야의 연구 능력을 배양하는데 그 목적이 있다. 접근성과 질 향상 및 비용 절감 등을 목표하는 노인/만성질환자 관련 보건정책들을 비판적으로 고찰하며, 나아가 만성질환관리체계와 관련된 연구의 동향과 성과를 국내외 논문 및 정책분석 자료의 리뷰를 통해 파악하고, 그것들이 한국의 노인/만성질환자 보건 연구, 실무 및 교육에 주는 시사점을 논의한다. 또한, 보건서비스시스템과 보건의료성과 연구의 이론적 배경과 연구방법론을 학생들이 관심을 갖는 주제들과 연결해 고찰하고 토론한다.
This seminar course focuses on key issues shaping health and health care policy and management for an aging society. Students engage in an ongoing discussion of the current status of and challenges in health policy and systems in Korea and other countries that aim to improve quality of care and ensure access to care for older people and those with chronic conditions. Using journal articles, policy reports, and other sources, students examine current topics involving health and social policies for older people and those with chronic conditions and their implications for Korea. Theoretical and methodological approaches for research on health policy and systems for the elderly are addressed.
정신보건세미나 (Seminar in Mental Health)
정신건강은 최근 한국 및 국제 사회의 심각한 보건 이슈로 주목받고 있다. 이 강좌에서 학생들은 정신건강과 질환의 개념과 관련된 이론과 관점을 배우고, 이를 바탕으로 사회적 맥락에서 중요한 정신건강관련 주제들과 생애주기에 따른 정신건강 위험집단에 대한 연구동향을 파악한다. 또한 국·내외 정신건강과 질환의 역학, 그리고 정신건강/질환이 개인과 사회에 미치는 영향을 살펴보고, 나아가 정신건강증진 전략, 정신건강 서비스와 관리체계, 그리고 정책적 접근에 대해 논의하고 연구, 정책, 실무에의 시사점을 도출한다.
Mental health is a top health policy agenda in Korea and international society. Students learn the concepts of and the theories and perspectives on mental health/mental illness, based on which they examine major topics in mental health in social context and also research trends on high risk groups in mental health across the life cycle. The course offers understanding of epidemiology of mental health/mental illness and its impacts on individuals and society. The course also provides opportunities to discuss mental health systems and policies aiming to mental health promotion, from which students will draw implication on research, policy, and practice.
여성건강 (Women's Health)
여성들은 남성과는 신체적인 생리적인 차원에서 상이한 면이 많다. 특히 최근에 이르러 여성의 사회적인 진출에 따라 사회적인 여성의 능력과 가치는 재조명되고 있다. 이에 따라 여성의 특수한 상태에서 감안하여야 하는 건강문제를 집중적으로 토의한다. 신체적·생리적인 문제로부터 사회보건학적인 측면에서의 여성 건강문제를 심층토의한다.
The objectives of this course include the following: to provide the student with an overview of the situation of women and men in a variety of settings; to make a case for gender equity as a primary objective in development; to discuss the main obstacles to achieving equality between women and men; and to describe the policy initiatives most appropriate to promoting gender equity in specific cases.
보건시스템과 서비스 연구 (Studies in Health Systems and Services)
보건시스템을 둘러싼 정치·경제 및 사회·인구적 환경 변화(고령화, 비전염성질환, 경제위기, 불평등, 세계화 등)는 보건시스템 자체의 지속가능성과 성과평가, 나아가 보건 시스템의 건강, 웰빙, 사회적 웰빙에의 기여에 대한 관심을 증가시키고 있다. 본 강좌에서는 보건시스템의 개념, 구성요소, 평가 틀을 살펴보고, 보건서비스연구(health services research[HSR])와 보건시스템정책연구(health systems and policy research[HSPR]) 분야를 이해하며, 나아가 이 분야의 주요 연구 동향과 이슈를 학생의 관심 국가(들)의 보건의료시스템 및 정책 상황과 연결해 논의한다. 또한 본 강좌에서는 사회과학 연구설계(research design)의 원리를 이해하고, 이를 각 학생의 관심 주제에 대한 연구 아이디어 개발과 계획에 적용해 봄으로써 HSR/HSPR 연구 수행 능력 향상을 도모한다.
The political-economic and socio-demographic challenges (e.g. aging, non-communicable disease, economic crisis, inequality, and globalization) increase the interests in the sustainability and performance of a health system itself and also its contributions to health, well-being, and social well-being. This course provides understanding of health systems (concepts, components, and analytic framework, etc.) and the multidisciplinary fields of health services research[HSR]/health systems and policy research[HSPR]. Students have opportunities to discuss recent research trends and issues in the fields in relation to a country(countries)' health systems they are interested in. This course also promotes students' understanding of the principles of research designs in social sciences and provides opportunities to apply such understanding to develop research ideas and plans on the topic of their interests in HSR/HSPR.
